Last wknd, the Stupids (as we affectionately call ourselves), all met halfway between Jacksonville and Louisville. This halfway place happens to be the tiny town of Mt. Vernon, Illinois. We did this b/c it had been too long since the Joneses and Doyles had seen each other and nearly 6 wks since our kiddos had been with their MarfieGaga! :) It was very cathartic to be together--despite the locale. :) Heck! All we needed was a hotel with a pool and food. Check, Check, Check! The Holiday Inn Mt. Vernon had all those things. And, we discovered a very cool Art Park where the kiddos ran around--as did the big kiddos. :)
